Adventurers

Adventurers are the main players in the Aether: Trading Card Game. They are represented in the game as gameplay characters, with attributes such as health, damage, and attack capabilities. If an Adventurer's health is depleted, the player loses the game. Adventurers can also be collected as individual characters with unique portrait, personality, and style. All Adventurers can gain experience and rewards after each game, based on the Adventurer played. Adventurers are powerful units in the game, providing the greatest impact as they are typically the strongest units in play, allowing players to cast cards, abilities, and relics. Adventurers can be both plain cards or non-fungible tokens (NFTs), which can be traded, rented out, or sold, providing true ownership over them. NFT Adventurers have the ability to be interacted with in ways that plain cards can not, allowing for greater customization and a more immersive experience.

Adventurer Tricks

Adventurer Tricks are special passive abilities unique to each individual Adventurer. These effects vary in type, ranging from summoning or buffing a creature to dealing damage to a target character, and tend to epitomize the Adventurer's character and playstyle.

Mastery

Mastery is an integer assigned to each Adventurer, indicating their current skill level. All Adventurers start at Mastery 1, and further Mastery can be gained by accumulating experience. Experience is earned by playing ranked games or Battlegrounds, with more experience awarded for winning matches. The Mastery cap is currently 10. The progression system is simple: playing matches grants experience points, which can be used to progress Mastery, giving one reward point for each level completed. Each Mastery unlocks a permanent additive passive bonus for the account. The current Mastery and experience of an Adventurer can be checked in their profile and is also displayed at the end of each match.
